Mysterious Filings Suggest Impostor Is Using Grayscale’s Name to Pump Obscure Coins
Someone appears to have gone to odd lengths to impersonate digital asset manager Grayscale Investments, possibly in an effort to drive up the prices of two lesser-known cryptocurrencies. To be clear: Grayscale said it has no intention of creating a financial instrument around Nahmii, an Ethereum scaling project, or Theta, a video platform. Nevertheless, there is a pair of registered trusts, one for each obscure coin, in the state of Delaware (the trust for Nahmii misspells the coin’s name with one “i”). Each of these trusts bears Grayscale’s name, and…

Coinbase, Naval, Framework Ventures Back $19M Raise for a Capital-Efficient Stablecoin
Fei Labs, a project building a more capital-efficient decentralized stablecoin, raised $19 million from Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Framework Ventures, Coinbase Ventures and AngelList founder Naval Ravikant, among others. The raise, disclosed Monday, is another sign competition is heating up among issuers of stablecoins. These cryptocurrencies are designed to hold their value against some mainstream asset, usually (as in Fei’s case) the U.S. dollar. Stablecoins play a linchpin role in the crypto ecosystem, allowing traders to quickly move fiat currency (or the next best thing) between global exchanges to take advantage of…

Fintoch Education: Crypto Custody
Fintoch is an innovative blockchain financial platform built by Morgan DF Fintoch. In the very beginning, the positioning of Fintoch is set to be something big – an ecosystem that connects lenders, borrowers, traders, and investors alike. A lively financial ecosystem is only viable if the underlying security for user funds is solid. Remember in Crypto, we don’t trust but verify. With that said, Fintoch focused on the development of its core technology HyBriid 2.0, which combines “zero-knowledge proof” and “multiple signatures” to protect users’ funds. For users who are…

Ban, Minister Says
India’s Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur said the government needs to study national security risks posed by virtual currencies before making any decision on their legality. “We understand there is immense interest in these virtual currencies, but we also need to look at national security and security of Indians and individuals,” Thakur said while addressing an event organized by Entrepreneurs’ Organisation Punjab on Saturday. Thakur took a jab at the high price volatility of cryptocurrencies, saying that these coins often chart 10x price moves in weeks. “That doesn’t happen in…

If 2020 is the first year of DeFi’s explosion, then 2021 is undoubtedly the first year of GameFi’s explosion. The fitting concept “metaverse”, as well as the upgrading of policy and supervision, have pushed the chain games to a new climax. The shift from the traditional “Free to Play” to “Play to Earn” (P2E) mode has allowed many chain players to take advantage of GameFi. If you…

Fintoch: Alleviating DeFi Onboarding Barriers for TradFi
We are no doubt weathering the harshest “winter” in crypto, with CoinGecko reporting a 74.6% DeFi market crash to $36 billion in Q2, 2022. What’s worse is that DeFi related hack is exacerbating this downfall. As REKT Database shown, DeFi related exploits surged significantly in May. Despite the low morale in the crypto market, true believers continue to build in the bear market and TradFi investors are still eager to get a taste of the “hearsay” high yielding DeFi protocols. Fintoch Investment platform, the key product of Morgan DF Fintoch LLC, enters the…
